Cover Reveal: Delilah is coming!

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000038_00074]

Beguiling DelilahRomancing the Guardians, Book Six will be released by late June or early July. This installment of the paranormal romantic suspense series required extensive research since most of it is set in France. I’ve enjoyed learning more about Paris, where the story opens, and the breathtaking Côte d’Azur in the south of France, where Delilah and her hero flee in their rush to escape their enemies. Can’t wait to set this puppy loose!

If you like sexy romance, adventure, suspense and flashes of the supernatural as much as I do, I think you will enjoy this series. To catch up with the other Guardians and their loves, just click the covers and sample their stories on Amazon.

St. Patrick’s Day Headlines

Read all about it!

First, in honor of Saint Patrick’s Day, I have lowered the price of DARLIN’ IRISH (Texas Devlins, Book Two) to just 99c. This sale will last only a few days, so if you haven’t read this sizzling historical western romance, now is the time to get it. By the way, book one WHITE WITCH, an introductory novella, is FREE.

Headline Two

THE POSSE anthology successfully launched on Wednesday (March 15th.) It climbed all the way to #4 in westerns>short stories on Amazon, and #38 in anthologies as of last night. I’m thrilled!

This collection offers 8 gritty, high voltage short stories of the old west. The authors include a real-life cowboy, a soldier turned logger, a book cover designer and more. All are acclaimed western writers.

In my story, “The Schoolmarm’s Hero” spinster schoolmarm Mattie Schoenbrun is abducted by a pair of drunken cowboys. Her new beau, Marshal Trace Balfour leads a posse in pursuit. Will his heroic quest end in love or tragedy?

Lyn, thank you for hosting me today. Like you, I’m thrilled to have a story in The Posse, with so many great western authors. Unlike the other stories, mine is more of a coming of age story than a romance. It features Gavin McAllistaire, about to turn thirteen and torn between the world of the Shoshone where he was raised and the world of the whites where he now lives.

The Reckoning by Charlene Raddon:

Here is an excerpt:

Gavin snorted at that. “You had no right to hold her down like that and try to get under her skirts.”

“Hell, half-breed, she’s only a tart. Lots’a fellas been under her skirts.” Jason laughed as he danced around on the bank like a prize fighter.

“She told you no. I heard her.” Gavin slowly made his way out of the water onto the bank. His wet canvas trousers clung to his legs and weighted him down, but he didn’t care. If Jason wanted to go another round with him, fine with him. “A man doesn’t keep after a girl after she’s told him no, no matter who she is.”

The boy laughed. Not only was he three years older than Gavin, he also weighed more. A lot more. He threw a mock punch. Gavin didn’t blink.

“Oooh, gonna play the stoic Injun, eh?” Jason danced around him. “Fine by me. I’m looking forward to beating the crap outta you. Grab ‘em, boys.”

Before Gavin could prepare himself to fight, the other four kids jumped him. Snarling and grunting, he fought hard, kicking and trying to strike out. They had hold of his arms. Then Jason kicked his feet out from under him, and he went down, taking the other boys with him.

The next thing he knew, Jason was pounding stakes into the ground and tying his wrists and ankles to them so that he lay facedown and spread eagle on the ground. He clenched his fists, bucked and tried to kick. But couldn’t move enough to help.

“Now comes the fun part, Injun. We’re gonna see how tough you are.” Jason cut down a sapling and whipped through the air several times. Gavin flinched inside with each snap, though the lash never touched him. Otherwise, he lay still as death. They wanted him to cry, beg and wail. He would not give into them.

The first strike forced a whoosh out of him and set his skin on fire. He made no sound.

Present Day

My name is Tyler Maxwell Alexander. I’m twenty-eight years old. A few months ago, I had it all. An executive job in a prestigious investment firm owned by my father. Ha! Yeah, right – father. I’ll explain about that later. I lived in a waterfront apartment overlooking the harbor and drove a Mercedes convertible.

Then, in the blink of an eye, it was gone. All of it. Everything, except the clothes on my back. I was broken. A bastard. Did I mention, I’m gay? No? Oh well, I have now.

This is the story of how my fairytale life turned to shit in the blink of an eye…..

Need a video trailer? Meet Opal Campbel

Opal is an experienced video designer. I met her (online) through Frank Kelso, author and organizer of THE POSSE western romance anthology. I told Opal I wanted to post the short trailer she created for my story in the anthology and asked her to tell me a little about herself. Here’s her answer:

“I have a facebook Page as well as a blog that I use more as a website.
I have been creating videos for about 5 years now. To date I have made over 400 videos and over 200 book cover GIF’s 🙂

There really isn’t much to say about me LOL My MAIN goal is to make sure that ANY author or publisher that wants a video can get one and budget is not a factor. I keep my prices very low and for anyone interested in a full book trailer I actually let the client pick the price 🙂 This is to make sure that no matter the client’s budget they can pay what they feel the video is worth to them or what they can afford without breaking the bank :)”

After viewing examples of Opal’s work on her blog site, I could find lots more to say about her, but I will let a few of the videos she did for THE POSSE speak for themselves:

Meryl Streep is my hero!

I vowed long ago to never get political on this blog, and I have forced myself not to say a word about how devastated I am by the Americans who voted for Donald Trump. But after reading Meryl Streep’s speech at the Golden Globes – regretting I missed hearing her – I can’t bite my virtual tongue any longer. She had the courage to stand up and say what I and many others think.

Moments ago I read Trump’s response on twitter. He called Streep “one of the most overrated actresses in Hollywood.” OMG! The woman is one of the greatest actresses of all time.

Trump sickens me! The tactics he used to win the election are disgusting. He mocked a disabled reporter, race baited and encouraged violence at his rallies. Worse still, he cozied up to Russian leader Vladimir Putin, inviting the hacking that damaged Hillary Clinton’s chances of winning. I fear what he will do to this country over the next four years.

Okay, that’s the end of my rant. It may get me in hot water with some of you. So be it. This is a free country – for now at least – and I have the right, no, the responsibility to speak out against a man I do not trust with our future.

A Very Special Christmas

This has ben an eventful year for my family. Our daughter and her spouse adopted three little munchkins in March, two sisters and their big brother, giving Hubby and me three more precious grandchildren with whom to celebrate the miracle of Christmas. Aren’t they adorable?!!

Kira, Emerson and Jax at Halloween

Our next big event came in August when our oldest step-granddaughter Jordan wed her longtime beau and future doctor, Travis. What a handsome couple!

Then, on December 17th, our son Dan married his sweetheart Jessica. All six of his children (four step-kids and two of his own, all from his first marriage) stood up for him and his bride. His best friend Tim conducted the ceremony, doing a wonderful job. I am delighted to share with you a few photos from the big day.

Dan and Jessica walking up the aisle

Their wedding was a bit non-traditional. The bride did not wear a veil and instead of being escorted up the aisle by her father, she and Dan chose to escort each other. They are a thoroughly modern couple!

Delaney, Jordan and Hannah seen here from between Hubby and moi. I’m prejudiced of course, but I think they’re all gorgeous. 🙂

Yup, our family sure did have a busy and romantic year. I’m looking forward to another wonderful year ahead, and I wish the same for all of you, my friends. Merry Christmas!

Meanwhile, if you want to get lost in a world of steamy romance and adventure, I hope you will give my novels a try. I am a cross genre author writing in both the western historical romance and contemporary romance genres, all with supernatural elements. You can find my books on my Amazon Author Page.
