End of the Month; Buy Now!

Hey everyone,

If you’ve thought about buying Darlin’ Druid, I’d be very grateful if you’d do it today. I’m hoping to raise my sales ranking on Amazon. Here’s a brief book description and link to my video to help you decide if it’s for you. Remember, DD is still just 99c on both Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

If psychics live among us, if they existed in ages past, is it possible such gifted beings also inhabited the American Old West? They do in my Texas Druids trilogy. Meet the Devlins, whose hidden talents lead them across prairies and mountains, into the land of cowboys and Indians, with consequences not even a Druid seer could predict.

Set in 1872, [[ASIN:B004ASNDES Darlin’ Druid (Texas Druids)]] is a blend of epic adventure, stormy romance and family strife, peppered by flashes of Druid magic. Jessie Devlin, daughter of Irish immigrants and survivor of the Great Chicago Fire, is descended from the “Old Ones,” her mother’s name for their ancient Druid ancestors. Gifted with second sight, Jessie dreams again and again of an unknown man who saves her from a terrible death. A prophetic vision convinces her the man is real and sends her west in search of him. But will her quest lead her to love or into a deadly trap?

Volume II in this trilogy will come out in November, 2011. It stars Tye Devlin, Jessie’s older brother. Set against a backdrop of Texas ranch life, an iconic cattle drive, and feuding families, the tale delves into Tye’s painful empathic ability and the impact it has upon his life and those he loves.

Greetings! If you have time today, please stop by Romance At Random. My article in the new series about western romance is posted. http://www.romanceatrandom.com/

Written as a make-believe interview with the hero of Darlin’ Druid, this is kind of tongue-in-cheek but also informational about the roots of modern western romance. Enjoy!

Write, Eat, Sleep – Meeting a Deadline

I’m determined to finish Dashing Druid, the second book in my Texas Druids series, by October 31. Since I’m my own publisher, this is a self-imposed deadline. If I meet it, that should leave me time enough to complete everything else that needs doing by late November, when I plan to publish the book on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

“Everything else” includes (1) editing after my beta readers catch my typos, punctuation and grammar errors, (2) creating the book cover, and (3) formatting for Kindle and Nook. Last but far from least, my son will write the tech files that ensure a smooth upload. He’s already agreed to help me with that, as he did for the first book, Darlin’ Druid, and for my memoir, Six Cats In My Kitchen. Don’t know what I’d do without him!

In order to meet my Oct. 31st deadline, my life has turned into a cycle of write, eat, sleep, repeated around the clock with “write” taking up most of my days and nights. My brain is on overload at the moment, explaining why I’m blithering away to y’all instead of plotting the last scene in chapter 22. When that’s done I’ll have only two chapters to go – probably the toughest ones to write. They will be action-packed, heavy on emotion and must come to a satisfying conclusion – maybe with a surprise or two that will make you, my friends, want to read the final book in the trilogy. Which, if I keep on schedule and if my husband puts up with me never wanting to do anything but write, will come out in late 2012. I wish I could crank out several books a year like some of the big name authors, but that will never happen.

Keep your fingers crossed and say a prayer for me!

Time to pay the bills!

Okay, now I need to pester y’all with more book promo. Sorry! It’s a necessity of life for authors, especially indie authors like me.

It rained! Thank you for your prayers!

Miracles still happen! It rained across the DFW (Dallas-Fort Worth) complex yesterday. Not just a few sprinkles, REAL rain lasting for hours off and on. Even better, more rain is expected this coming week.

God bless you all for your prayers. Please keep praying. South and West Texas didn’t get much of the blessings we received yesterday, and those areas need it even more than we do here in the northern part of the state.

Included in my interview is an excerpt from Darlin’ Druid. Please stop by and say hi. Friendly comments make my day!
