After getting the rights back for my Romancing the Guardians books, I debated whether or not to go wide with this series. Life events and a prolonged bout of depression left me in limbo for weeks, but I finally decided against putting the series out on multiple sites. All 8 books are now enrolled in KDP Select at just 99c each. Or you can read them for Free with Prime.

For me, it was an easy decision to go with KDP Select, Lyn. I did it because I’m LAZY! Ha ha. Seriously, I know it has its downsides but there are lots of upsides too. Congrats on taking your books back and getting them out there. Best of luck!

Diana, thank you for being so honest with me, and I confess I’m lazy too. And I’m kind of a scaredy-cat, or maybe just a confirmed introvert. It takes me a while to work up to jumping into a new situation, a new site, whatever. For now, I’ll stick with KDP.

Congrats! As I understand it, you can price things much higher on Apple, Kobo and Google Play – in fact Google do this weird thing where you have to price it 20% higher or they sell it 20% cheaper and all the other sites match. Once you start getting some non-amazon sales you will be amazed at how uncomplicated and sensible it is with the others. I routinely earn more on Google Play and Kobo than Amazon now. Not that any of it’s more than negligible but it’s nice not to have to be totally reliant on a site that is so difficult to deal with and so utterly draconian if anything does go wrong.
