Meet the Author

Lyn Horner lives in Fort Worth, Texas, “where the west begins,” with her husband Ken and three very spoiled cats. Both animal lovers, they also feed and shelter a gaggle of community cats who come and go.

Originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Lyn attended the the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. After graduating, she worked as a fashion illustrator and art instructor. Then her husband’s job took them to Chicagoland. At that point, she gave up her art career and stayed home to raise their two young children. Soon growing bored, she took up writing, which she had always enjoyed. She came to love researching and writing passionate love stories.

Lyn is a cross-genre author. She writes different sub-genres of romance. Her works include her award-winning western historical series, Texas Devlins. She also has a pre-apocalyptic series called Romancing the Guardians and a time travel series, Legendary Rendezvous. She loves to inject paranormal twists in her stories that often feature characters with psychic gifts. No doubt because she long ago experienced precognitive dreams herself.

Lyn is part Scotch Irish. This explains why Ireland, its rich history, and wealth of myth and legends often play a part in her stories. She is especially proud of her Irish historical romance Rebel Mine. Set during the great 1798 Irish rebellion against British rule, it required many, many hours of research. Not that Lyn minded! It has been highly recommended by the Historical Fiction Company.

Hi Tracy. What a wonderful compliment! I’m delighted to know you enjoyed Darlin’ Druid and Dashing Druid. I’m working on the third book, Dearest Druid, and hope to publish it late in 2012. Wish it could be sooner!

I love the web theme you have on this blog. Is it a paid one available to purchase or can it be downloaded for free? Perhaps you had it custom coded, either way, it’s eye-catching!

Hi Raylene. Thanks for stopping by. I’m using the 2010 theme. It’s free for WordPress users. However, I desidned and uploaded the header myself.

Can I just say what a relief to find someone who actually knows what theyre talking about on the internet. You definitely know how to bring an issue to light and make it important. More people need to read this and understand this side of the story. I cant believe youre not more popular because you definitely have the gift.

    Hi Lyn,
Bev (the proof reader) here from the author thread on Amazon. I am so sorry, but your message you sent me about your books has disappeared. I have read the Darlin’Druid and absolutely loved it. Would you mind sending me an email so I can then reply to you?
    Thanks

Hmm it appears like your site ate my first comment (it was extremely long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I submitted and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I as well am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m still new to everything. Do you have any suggestions for beginner blog writers? I’d genuinely appreciate it.

Hi Eric, sorry if I ignored your previous comment. I get a lot of spam and unfortunately I sometimes trash “good” comments with the junk.

The best advice I can give is to keep your blog clean looking. Allow some space around your posts and group gadgets in a logical order on your sidebar. As far as your posts, try to make them interesting. Gear them toward whatever group of readers you’re after. If your subject requires research, do a thorough job. You don’t want to pass on incorrect information if you can avoid it. I hope this helps!

I’m using the Twenty Ten theme from WordPress. It’s a clean looking design and suits my blogging needs. I designed the header myself using photos and graphics from my own picture gallery, and MS Paint software. I don’t recommend that program. You’d be better off using Photoshop or a similar program.
