Meet the Author

Lyn Horner lives in Fort Worth, Texas, “where the west begins,” with her husband Ken and three very spoiled cats. Both animal lovers, they also feed and shelter a gaggle of community cats who come and go.

Originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Lyn attended the the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. After graduating, she worked as a fashion illustrator and art instructor. Then her husband’s job took them to Chicagoland. At that point, she gave up her art career and stayed home to raise their two young children. Soon growing bored, she took up writing, which she had always enjoyed. She came to love researching and writing passionate love stories.

Lyn is a cross-genre author. She writes different sub-genres of romance. Her works include her award-winning western historical series, Texas Devlins. She also has a pre-apocalyptic series called Romancing the Guardians and a time travel series, Legendary Rendezvous. She loves to inject paranormal twists in her stories that often feature characters with psychic gifts. No doubt because she long ago experienced precognitive dreams herself.

Lyn is part Scotch Irish. This explains why Ireland, its rich history, and wealth of myth and legends often play a part in her stories. She is especially proud of her Irish historical romance Rebel Mine. Set during the great 1798 Irish rebellion against British rule, it required many, many hours of research. Not that Lyn minded! It has been highly recommended by the Historical Fiction Company.

The display is very clear,.It depends what sort of impact you’re trying to have. This is pleasant and restful but doesn’t have the immediate impact some do. I’m not sure about the picture at the top: it’s pleasant but doesn’t grab me – the colloquial phrase is spot on here.

How about instead of saying you live with a husband and four cats, saying you live with four cats and one husband?

Simon, I appreciate your constructive comments. I’m no expert on blog design, but I think I get what you’re saying. I will give the header some thought. The present design reflects my Texas Druids theme, but perhaps I can do something to strengthen it.

Thanks, Texasdruids. I’m no expert either, but I’ve been checking through a lot of blogs and websites belonging to artists lately, and some of them are experts!

I like the cats, by the way.

Carra and everyone, I will change out the photo at the top when this drawing ends. Thanks for alerting me to the problem. I guess I just didn’t want to mess with the header, but obviously it need work.

Yes – lovely and organized. Great book covers. Gorgeous kitties. I would replace the top right photo of you with the one among the cats … much clearer and more of a bright smile.

Woah! I really like the layout of this site. It’s simple, yet effective. Good balance between user friendliness and visual appearance. What’s the name of the template you’re using? Is it free? Thanks.

Thanks so much. I’m glad you like my layout. The theme (template) I’m using is “Twenty Ten” and yes, it’s free from WordPress. I designed the custom header to fit.
