Beauty of Nature

Sharing with friends is a treasured gift. My husband and I recently returned from a reunion with dear friends in Overland Park, Kansas. We had a great time chatting, playing games and, of course, eating. We also took a day trip to the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens. It’s an amazing 300-acre preserve with several gardens and forested walking paths. My favorites were the Monet Garden and the Sculpture Garden. Here are just a few of the many photos we took. Sorry the one of Monet painting his lily pond is a little blurry.

Trained in the visual arts, Lyn worked as a fashion illustrator and art instructor before she took up writing. Hi Lyn, I enjoyed reading about the botanical gardens. My brother and sister-in-law live in Shawnee KS, but I was unaware of the gardens nearby. We’ll make it a point to see them the next time we’re up that way. We live on the edge of the TX Hill Country, just north of San Antonio. Last year I launched my debut historical fiction novel, The Stone Cutter, set in first-century Petra, Arabia. Though not strictly a romance novel, a thread of romance runs through much of the plot.

Hi Brock, good to meet you! I apologize for not approving and replying to your comment sooner. I sometimes neglect to check my email and lose some important messages. Bad habit! Anyway, I’m glad you enjoyed reading about the Botanical Gardens in Kansas. They are truly beautiful!

Your book, The Stone Cutter, sounds intriguing. Is it available on Amazon for Kindle? I’d like to get it.

We used to have friends in Kerrville, not too far from you. It’s a beautiful part of the state! If you would like to keep in touch, please email me here: lynda@jensen.net . Lyn Horner is my pen name. You can find all my books on my Amazon Author Page: http://www.amazon.com/Lyn-Horner/e/B004CY506Y

Hi again, Lyn. Thanks for the response. It can be hard sometimes to keep up with everything.

Where we live (Bulverde, TX) is very similar to what it’s like around Kerrville. Moving here about 30 years ago, it was very much in the middle of nowhere, but things have changed a lot and so we now feel we live on the edge of San Antonio.

Yes, my novel The Stone Cutter is available on Amazon: either paperback, hardcover, or Kindle. Just search for “Brock Meier The Stone Cutter” and it should pop right up. Or, you can get a signed copy directly from me. I have yet to set up my own online store, but we can arrange a direct sale otherwise. Just let me know.

Hi Brock, I just grabbed the Kindle format of The Stone Cutter. Looking forward to reading it after I finish reading the dystopian series I’m in the middle of now.

Are you writing book 2 in the series? I’m sure it requires a lot of research.
