A beautiful historic church.
After we left the ruins of Penrith Castle we made our way down through the town to St Andrew’s Parish Church, described perfectly by Sue Vincent here at The Silent Eye.
Now Sue has described the church beautifully in the above article, so I am going to show some photos and leave you some poetry of my feelings of the place .
The church felt
Dressed bright for Christmas
I was at once at home
Though not all of our number
Felt the warm and soft vibrations
Strange, animosity and fear
What different feelings were given here.
Please don’t lay me in the ground
Where spinners and giants can be found.
Gravestones tell their tales
Of poets, families and a centurions travails.
There be giants there too
Every word I say is true.
So as the dusk began to grow
