Amazon’s KDP & Six Cats Critics

Six Cats In My Kitchen has done pretty well since I enrolled it in Amazon’s KDP Select program. On my last Free Day – meaning the book was free to all comers for 24 hours – it was downloaded close to 500 times. After the free period ended, Cats continued to sell for actual money. Sales have slowed down now, but I expected that. When I schedule the next freebie day, they’ll pick up again. I hope!Pepper meowing sm. cropped

One side effect of the giveaways and increased sales is some not so pleasant feedback. I know my stance on declawing and letting cats outside is controversial, although my cats don’t seem to mind. Whatever, I’m not here to rant and rail at anyone for believing differently.

However, it does kind of get my goat when someone downloads my book for free, reads a few pages, then presumes to diss my writing. I suppose I need to develop a thicker skin if I’m going to place my work in the public eye, right? But you know what, some people need to work on their manners.

Lyn Horner resides in Fort Worth, Texas with her husband and a pair of very spoiled cats. Trained in the visual arts, Lyn worked as a fashion illustrator and art instructor before she took up writing. This hobby grew into a love of research and the crafting of passionate love stories based on that research. This blog is designed to spotlight Lyn's books and share the work of other creative people.
