Beguiling DelilahRomancing the Guardians, Book Six will be released by late June or early July. This installment of the paranormal romantic suspense series required extensive research since most of it is set in France. I’ve enjoyed learning more about Paris, where the story opens, and the breathtaking Côte d’Azur in the south of France, where Delilah and her hero flee in their rush to escape their enemies. Can’t wait to set this puppy loose!

If you like sexy romance, adventure, suspense and flashes of the supernatural as much as I do, I think you will enjoy this series. To catch up with the other Guardians and their loves, just click the covers and sample their stories on Amazon.

I had fun with this 4th book in my Romancing the Guardians series. Covered new ground in New York City and the Gold Coast of Long Island, where The Great Gatsby was staged. The romance is sweet and slow to build at first, but I think you will enjoy Tristan’s dilemma as he tries to get close to Charlotte, who can’t stand to be touched.

The romance heats up and suspense builds with the arrival of unexpected company. Then watch out when the Guardians’ mortal enemies, the Hellhounds show up. A secret room in the old mansion and a wild ride through the night spell action!

What desperate measures must Tristan take to save his lady from the villains? Will Charlotte overcome fear and allow herself to love? Come join these two for a winter romp through New York City, ski slopes in the Catskill Mountains, and a lonely old mansion once the hangout of gangsters.

Order now and enjoy over Memorial Day!  http://amzn.to/1SU6vNG

Blurb:

Chopper pilot Josie Tseda has vowed to find Gabriel Valdez, a Guardian of Danu, and bring him to meet with the other Guardians. Locating him in the mountains of Colombia and convincing him to fly back to the U.S. with her proves a challenge. As their mutual attraction heats up, will her mission stand between them?

Waging a battle against drug traffickers in his country, Gabriel also seeks revenge upon a man he hates. He’s not looking for romance and doesn’t trust the feisty American female who invades his life. The urgent message she brings, supposedly from the High Guardian, may be a lie intended to ensnare him. Yet, he can’t help wanting her. Will he allow her to capture his heart or will the secret power he wields ultimately drive her away?

Excerpt:

Hours or maybe only minutes later, a hand roughly shook her shoulder, waking her. Then the hand groped her breast. She gasped and her eyes flew open. Above her in the darkness loomed a man’s crouched figure. Without having to think, she drove the heel of her left hand into his solar plexus and chopped him in the throat with the edge of her right hand, moves she’d learned in the Army. She rolled out of the way as he gagged and toppled sideways.

Not giving the intruder time to recover, Josie pulled her combat knife from her boot and scrambled from the open tent. She shot to her feet, glanced around and froze. A semicircle of men surrounded the campfire, facing her. Berto stood with his back turned, talking to a tall man with lean features, dressed in camouflage pants and shirt – like several of the others – and a floppy-brimmed camo hat.

Berto pivoted toward her. Surprise widened his eyes when he spotted the deadly knife in her hand. “Señorita!”

“Who are these men, Berto?” she demanded. Her gaze traveled over the motley bunch, returning to the tall man. He stood out from the rest, not only in height but with an indefinable air of authority. He was also handsome as sin.

“Señorita, I –” her guide began.

A growl of rage behind Josie alerted her. She whirled just as the man she’d temporarily put out of action burst from the tent and launched himself at her. She had no time to react. He knocked her flat, jolting her when she hit the hard ground. Landing on top of her, he knocked the wind out of her.

Somehow, she hung onto her knife. Although barely able to breathe, she jabbed the blade at the flabby underbelly of his bearded chin. The point pricked his skin, producing a thin trickle of blood that ran down his throat. He went still and watched her with fury in his black gaze.

“Get off me,” she panted, struggling for air.

He snarled between clenched teeth but didn’t move. His fetid breath made her want to gag. Then a low voice barked the same order in Spanish. The oaf on top of her shot a rebellious glance at whoever had spoken. With a hate-filled glare, he growled a refusal, twisted his head away and made a grab for her knife arm. She jerked it aside just in time.

Suddenly, another man crouched beside her. Thinking he meant to help subdue her, she whipped her blade across his chest and heard him gasp as it tore through his shirt, into his flesh. With lightning reflexes, he gripped her wrist and squeezed painfully, wrenching a sharp cry from her lips as the knife dropped from her paralyzed hand.

Staring at the man’s lean features and light, angrily slitted eyes, she recognized him as the one Berto had been speaking to when she burst from her tent. She expected him to strike back at her for wounding him but instead, he shoved the other man off her, issuing a harsh reprimand in the same low, resonant voice her attacker had refused to obey moments before. She realized he must lead this band of thieves or rebels, or whatever they were.

BLURB:

This book is a biography of a woman I have loved and admired for the whole of my life.

In December 1944 a German family of seven were captured and convicted of war crimes for harbouring Jews.

I have known this story for most of my life. In the twilight of her years, this lady has decided that it is time for her story to be told, so it will be recorded for future generations.

The woman and her sister were interned in Bergen-Belsen Concentration Camp until Liberation on 13 April 1945.

This is a true account of her experience.

EXCERPT:

Hanover, Lower Saxony

GERMANY 1939

The house looked the same as every other dwelling in the street. Two story, attached, weathered stone. There were three bedrooms and a bathroom with indoor plumbing upstairs. An attic, where family treasures were hidden, could only be accessed through a removable panel in the ceiling of the main bedroom closet. Downstairs was a small but adequate dine in kitchen, a sitting room and a storeroom. Inside the storeroom was a staircase which led down to a basement.

The house sat opposite the banks of the Leine River. It was home to Inga Albine and her family. She had one older sister, two older brothers and one younger brother. They loved summer when they could swim and play in the water.

Inga’s father, Adaulfo, was a well-known and successful Banker. An unusual occupation for an Aryan as most Bankers were Jewish.

Inga’s mother, Alisz, was a talented seamstress but with her husband being more than capable of providing for the family, sewing was a hobby rather than a chore. Although sewing gave her a great deal of joy, her first love was her family. She adored being with her children.

Being only children, both Alisz and Adaulfo had always dreamed of having a large family. Their dream had come true. They had five healthy children, blonde haired, blue eyed. Perfect Aryans in Adolf Hitler’s eyes. Klaus, 18, Manfred 17, Elke 15, Inga 13 and Oskar 8. The girls and Oskar attended private school while the two older boys studied Engineering. They all played the violin and with the exception of Oskar, they played very well. Neighbours often praised Adaulfo and Alisz on how polite and well-mannered all five children were.

The family were prominent in the local community. They never hesitated to help people who were less fortunate than themselves.

That was to be their downfall…..
